Time To Put The Yard To Bed

Autumn is a happy and sad time of year. It’s happy because I am already looking forward to snow and Christmas! I like winter and skiing and being outside any time of the year. It is a sad time too, though, because I have to say so long to my flowers, shurbs, and garden until spring. It is the time to harvest the vegetables, rake leaves, clean the eaves troughs (Pete’s job), and empty the rain barrel, among other things. When I look out over my empty garden, it makes me reminisce about the beauty that was there, waiting again, until the spring.
